About Our Firm
Stratton Immigration, PLLC, was founded to help immigrants get the legal help they need for all their immigration issues. Serving clients primarily in the state of Washington, our founding attorney James “Jay” Stratton speaks Spanish and English. He has the legal experience to develop a strategy to help you resolve your challenges with immigration applications and other legal difficulties with the U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Services (USCIS) system. Jay is assisted in the work of the firm by attorney Brian Wolf, who has many years of experience in immigration and nationality law, and an office staff experienced with providing service to immigration clientele.

Understanding ICE
Like USCIS, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) representatives are governed by the Department of Homeland Security. ICE was created in 2003 in response to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to the nation. The role of ICE in immigration enforcement activities is confusing and terrifying for immigrants and their families. One of the most fearsome divisions within ICE is the one that empowers its representatives to arrest, detain and deport unauthorized immigrants who are living in the U.S. This is known as the Enforcement and Removal Operations division.
The division’s activities have moved from focusing on removing those who were convicted of serious crimes in the U.S. to now targeting anyone who is undocumented and residing here. Legislators are debating abolishing ICE and reforming immigration. However, in the meantime, many people’s lives have been negatively affected. Many more lives are at risk of becoming unbearable without the help of an experienced immigration attorney.
